Göteborg Baroque Arts Ensemble
The Göteborg Baroque Arts Ensemble is an assembly of professional singers and musicians all with a special interest in performing older music. The core of the group is the vocal ensemble ³Göteborg Baroque Soloists² and Musik i Väst's instrumental ensemble Corona Artis. The majority of the ensemble's members received their musical education at the School of Music in Göteborg, and many have continued further study within the early music field.

Ulrike Heider born in Erlangen, Germany, studied church music and organ in Arnhem with B. Matter and H. van Nieuwkoop, choral and orchestral conducting in Zwolle with J. Leussink and T. Lehmann, and singing in Tilburg with R. Stewart. She is now organist of the Haga Church, Göteborg, and teacher of liturgical singing at the School of Music, Göteborg University. She is also founder and artistic leader of the medieval vocal quartet Schola Gothia.

From the booklet,
an introduction by Frederik K. Gable:

On Thursday morning, April 16, 1607, many professional musicians of Hamburg participated in a festival service dedicating for the third time the newly re-furnished St. Gertrudeıs Chapel. The music was so splendid that Lucas van Cöllen, the Chief Pastor of the nearby St. Jamesıs Church (Jacobikirche), described its performance in the published version of his sermon (reproduced following this commentary). This detailed account, supplemented by information from musical, pictorial, liturgical, and theological sources, makes possible a reconstruction of the full liturgical context. The service includes impressive double-choir works by Bonhomme and Lassus, a triple-choir motet by Jacob Handl, and the magnificent German Te Deum setting for four choirs of instruments and voices by Hieronymus Praetorius.
