The Jönköping Sinfonietta The City of Jönköping has a longstanding orchestra tradition ranging back to the 17th century, this heritage is now brought forward by Jönköpings Sinfonietta, the regions only professional orchestra. Jönköpings Sinfonietta is a cooperation between the Jönköpings Orchestral Society and the regional music trust (Musik i Småland). The orchestra employs about 40 professional musicians. The Sinfonietta is a flexible and efficient instrument to accomplish width of genres and accessibility. The sinfonietta has its home base at the Concert Hall in Jönköping, where they present a series of concerts each season mixing traditional orchestra repertoire with a focus on contemporary composers. Past years has focused on Swede Anders Hillborg and Norwegian Halvor Haug. Jönköpings Sinfonietta regularly invites conductors and soloists from across Europe, the orchestra has toured in Sweden, Germany and Spain. Christopher Warren-Green was their chief conductor over the period 1998 - 2002.
Jönköpings Kammarkör Jönköping Chamber Choir has since its inception in 1968 been an substantial contributor to the musical life of the city. Over the years the choir as matured in to a excellent exponent of the Swedish choir tradition, not least shown by audience reactions both home and abroad. Jönköpings Chamber Choir is a self governing body which seek good quality and a wide repertoire; from Elizabethan madrigals over large Baroque works to Modern Choir Classics and popular arrangements. Ove Gotting has been their musical director since 1989.
Christopher Warren-Green Christopher Warren-Green enjoys a rich and varied career as a conductor and concert soloist. At the age of 19 he was invited to join the Academy of St-Martin-in-the-Fields. By the time he was 24 he was Concertmaster at the Philharmonia Orchestra, and he returned to the Academy of St-Martin-in-the-Fields as its leader five years later. Since becoming Music Director of the London Chamber Orchestra in 1988, he has gradually made conducting his primary focus and has established regular relationships with orchestras such as the National Symphony Washington DC, Seattle Symphony and the Philharmonia. He has worked extensively in Northern Europe and became Chief Conductor of the Jönköpings Sinfonietta in 1998.
Thomas Lander The tenor Thomas Lander got his training at the Royal Collage of Music Collage of Opera in Stockholm. Hi had his Opera debut at the Vadstena Academy in 1980, after getting his diploma he was workes at the Staatsoper in Hamburg, Wiener Volksoper and during the early 1990¹s he worked at the Niersächsische Staatsoper in Hannover. Today he is based in Sweden as a freelance opera and concert soloist. Thomas Lander is also a spirited romance interpreter with a wide repertoire based in Schubert and Schumann.
Jeanette Köhn The Soprano Jeanette Köhn has a diploma as Vocal teacher from the Royal Collage of music in Stockholm, she has also studied singing with Geoffrey Parsons in London and Rudolf Knoll in Salzburg, Jeanette Köhn has been the recipient of the Jenny Lind and Christina Nilsson awards for her vocal excellence. She has been a member and soloist of Eric Ericsons Chamber Choir since 1992 and a much sought after soloist for church and concert programmes both in Sweden and Internationally.
Sven Wollter The eminent actor Sven Wollter is one of the most awarded Swedish performers of his generation. Known for his ability to interpret the most diverse characters on the Theatre stage, in Television and Motion Pictures. He has worked with directors like Andrei Tarkovsky ("The Sacrifice" 1986) and Bille August ("A song for Martin" 2000).
